Regardless of all the attempts from the so called terrorists, Mumbaikars (Mumbai Citizens) will not give up so easily. I think even the terrorists should realize that they’re trying their nasty stunts on the wrong nation. A nation that has so much integrity, love and togetherness. People globally keep an eye on us.
Lately, there has been so many blasts in Surat, Ahmedabad and Kolkata. But what the terrorists should understand is that come what may, we’ll still stand up. The loss of lives is what they want and they get it. But the family that has lost their loved ones don’t lose hope. Mumbai is known for it’s continuous tolerance in spite of the troubles that comes in. I really admire the undying spirit of Mumbaikars.
Recently I was traveling in the local BEST bus, the day after the blast at Gujarat occurred. I was very scared to travel that day, as there were numerous bomb attempts to scare us. I was shocked to see all our citizens traveling like nothing ever happened. But there was one thing that really got my attention. People were becoming alert on suspicious people or bags that were being carried in the bus.
I think Mumbaikars have now become much more matured after the recent incidents. Even the Mumbai Cops have become stricter than before. I seen them checking each and every vehicle. They have even stopped Rickshaws that have suspicious passengers. This is my second good experience with Mumbai Cops. Go for it Saheb’s !! (That’s what most Mumbaikars call them).
I would like to mention a few points that you should be careful about:
- Please be really careful when you are traveling in public transports. You are not stupid if you check what’s under your seat.
- If you see a suspicious or unidentified bag lying around, please ask if it belongs to someone. You might walk away but if something wrong happens, you’ll never be able to forgive yourself.
- When traveling in a Rickshaw, make sure you check behind your seat. Most people don’t check it but you are not stupid doing so.
- Crowded places has always been targeted. Please be an alert citizen and keep a watch on an outsider who is trying his / her luck to destroy our country. I know this is really not possible in this busy world but trying it won’t do you harm. Will it?
- One last suggestion. This really helped me lot and I would suggest it to you too. Please keep good contacts with an higher official or a media person. You never know when you will need their help.
Just one word for terrorists from my end. As Swami Vivekananda says “A man of intellect can turn into a devil, but never a man of heart”. We, Mumbaikars have a heart and we are proud of it!

Hey Bro,
I agree to your point to some extent.
I want to also mention that Mumbaikars forget things very fast, mainly because of the fast moving lifestyle. Or maybe they do not want to think about it. But somewhere within every Mumbaikar’s heart there is fear which comes out when there is a panic situation, love and togetherness vanishes. Don’t you think so?
The power of suffering is infinitely greater than the power of doing; the power of love is infinitely of greater potency than the power of hatred.
