How parties can be handled smartly.

Hello friends, It’s been a while I’ve written something online. So, I thought I’d get something interesting to your notice. I assume party is something every one likes talking about. So, I thought I should write something about my recent party experiences.

I’ve been partying crazy this 2009. It started since New years eve and hasn’t stopped as yet. My weekends are always busy meeting family, friends and new people. Isn’t that cool? but I would also like to tell you guys that most of the parties I attended had fights, arguments and misunderstandings.

I would like to mention are few instances that I came across and I would suggest my readers to try and implement on it. I’m sure most of you won’t agree with me but I’m just writing about my experiences.

When you throw a party for family or friends, please check your guest list again. You might either want to keep it just with family and your very close friends. You might want to be a little careful when your family or friends invite their friends or their known contact, who you’re not sure about. Because you’re having a good time with your friends and family and you can speak or act however with your people but not with a person you’re not sure about. Also, people who are invited to parties from friends should know that they’re new to the crowd, and they need to be a little more careful. Here, your image is totally dependable on your friend who invited you. You mess it up by over drinking and speaking something that might offend someone will surely lead to misunderstanding, as only your friend knows you and not the crowd around you (I hope I made sense here).

You should always keep your conversation short but to the point. Because first impression is the best impression. If you be yourself and speak the lungs out of you people tend to move away. It’s strange but surveys say that talkative people at party’s are turn offs, unless you come out with some good sense of humour. There are people who boast at parties. This is a big turn off too. People aren’t interested in topics like this. Keep it very friendly. I think the best way to enjoy your party is to make a good friendly conversation, instead of showing your awareness by doing things that are people aren’t interested in knowing.

You should keep your drinking and eating at a limit, as there are people watching you. I know “as if you care” attitude is always in the picture but at times you need to keep a watch on this too.

Now, coming to the bar section. I think the host of the party should be smart enough and keep people in charge of the party. For instance, have a person who drinks too much offer snacks. This way he/she is distracted from the bar. You keep the people who eat too much in charge of some thing else. This really helps, trust me!! Ohh, and the trouble makers should be kept far from the bar as much as possible. This way the drinking level stops and unwanted arguments stop too.

One more interesting topic would be , Women!! Yes, I know they are the star of any party but I think they should be really looked after. There’s been a lot of misunderstanding over women. I don’t want to comment on anything that would lead to battle of the sexes. I know both have their own persona. I personally, respect women. May it be at the bar, party or otherwise. I think you need to go easy with what you think about women or how you behave with them at parties. It only takes one spark to light a fire. Surveys also claim that most public fights happen at Discotheque, Pubs or Wild parties. I think the only way to control this is to be in your senses. Over drinking and making a pass at women can definitely get you into trouble.

I’ve personally overlooked all this and now I’ve made sure of all the above before throwing a party. Please do comment I would like to know of what you guys think about it. May be I could alter or add something that you send me.

Best regards,

“Reality” the word itself makes you want to think, is this for real?

When you have a bad day at work thinking how exactly you could have dealt with your interfering colleague or rather what politics can you now play to be the cherry pie in your bosses eye. Well, you need not think too much but just sit back and watch a few stupid reality show on television. You don’t even need to scan your channels to look for them, as they’re all over the place.

Our television viewers have been fooled by the word “Reality Show”. To name a few, there’s MTV Roadies (Gosshhh! don’t even know why they featured this show on television). They show a bunch of youngsters who take so much non sense just to get selected for this show. Ohh! not to forget the bald judge “Raghu” who thinks he’s the next BIG thing around, who has all the rights in this world to insult or humiliate his contestants. And not to forget VJ Nikhil Chinnapa! who tries his luck to be different but unfortunately he’s lost the skills of entertaining his viewers.

I think MTV producers need to sit back and think of how much they’re torturing us. They finish with one god forsaken show and start another. Lately, they came up with MTV Splitsville! Tagging it as the best looking models and two handsome (Give me a break MTV) guys all alone in a ville in Goa. Supposedly, a dating show but it looks more like a faking show. The girls bitch, back stab and do what ever it takes to get their a$$ saved from the dumping zone. No offense to the girls but are you really serious?? do you think the two guys are even worth trying your luck? Coming back to the producers of this show, they are clueless on the rules they have set for the show. It keeps changing for every episode and it’s more like if the producers like your face your a$$ is saved regardless of all attempts or the strategies you’ve accomplished. So, MTV has really turned me off these days.

Lets check the ultimate Indian channels Sony, Zee and Star TV! So much to do in this competitive world I mussay! Every channel wants to compete with each other with music and other talent shows but if you see the judges ain’t judging your talent here. Well, at least that’s what I seen in a few shows. The judges not only appreciate your talent but they humiliate you and make you feel wasted. You’ll want to ask your self in the first place, why did you even want to participate for the show. I think it’s become a latest trend to be the meanest judge. Media then hypes the show in all the news channels. I think thats a very nice way of getting PR for your show. You pass some ridiculous remarks at your contestant and it becomes news. Ohh! and you find people talking about it in local transports too. (Come on people, do you think this is for real?).

Now there’s just another reality show that’s supposed to be a BIG hit, It’s called Big Boss 2! Give me a break man, I still couldn’t recover from the damage that they did to mind in the first part. I some time wonder, why did I even have a glimpse of the show. A show that has flop actors, unsuccessful models and ruthless politicians (Like I even want to peek in your private lives). Anyways, it’s up to you if you like watching these shows but I can only tell you, it’s a waste of time and electricity. I suggest you watch Cartoon Network. At least those animated characters do a better job to entertain you.

Regardless of all the attempts from the so called terrorists, Mumbaikars (Mumbai Citizens) will not give up so easily. I think even the terrorists should realize that they’re trying their nasty stunts on the wrong nation. A nation that has so much integrity, love and togetherness. People globally keep an eye on us.

Lately, there has been so many blasts in Surat, Ahmedabad and Kolkata. But what the terrorists should understand is that come what may, we’ll still stand up. The loss of lives is what they want and they get it. But the family that has lost their loved ones don’t lose hope. Mumbai is known for it’s continuous tolerance in spite of the troubles that comes in. I really admire the undying spirit of Mumbaikars.

Recently I was traveling in the local BEST bus, the day after the blast at Gujarat occurred. I was very scared to travel that day, as there were numerous bomb attempts to scare us. I was shocked to see all our citizens traveling like nothing ever happened. But there was one thing that really got my attention. People were becoming alert on suspicious people or bags that were being carried in the bus.

I think Mumbaikars have now become much more matured after the recent incidents. Even the Mumbai Cops have become stricter than before. I seen them checking each and every vehicle. They have even stopped Rickshaws that have suspicious passengers. This is my second good experience with Mumbai Cops. Go for it Saheb’s !! (That’s what most Mumbaikars call them).

I would like to mention a few points that you should be careful about:

Please be really careful when you are traveling in public transports. You are not stupid if you check what’s under your seat.

If you see a suspicious or unidentified bag lying around, please ask if it belongs to someone. You might walk away but if something wrong happens, you’ll never be able to forgive yourself.

When traveling in a Rickshaw, make sure you check behind your seat. Most people don’t check it but you are not stupid doing so.

Crowded places has always been targeted. Please be an alert citizen and keep a watch on an outsider who is trying his / her luck to destroy our country. I know this is really not possible in this busy world but trying it won’t do you harm. Will it?

One last suggestion. This really helped me lot and I would suggest it to you too. Please keep good contacts with an higher official or a media person. You never know when you will need their help.

Just one word for terrorists from my end. As Swami Vivekananda says “A man of intellect can turn into a devil, but never a man of heart”. We, Mumbaikars have a heart and we are proud of it!

After having a hard day at work all you need is a little massage. Mumbai buses and trains are quite famous for it. All you need to do is get into a crowded bus or train and rest assured our crowd takes care of you well.

I had a wonderful experience yesterday. As usual I took my daily bus that stops outside my house. Thankfully, I had place to sit. So, I thought I missed the massage from our lovely crowd. Little did I know that at our very famous junction Saki Naka, there was terrific traffic. People were just entering the bus like it’s the last bus for the day.

I finally got up from my seat two stop’s before my stop, because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to get past our tired, frustrated Mumbai workers. I then noticed that there a group of guys who blocked the front exit of the bus. I some how pushed my self ahead to get down and I found my pocket empty. Someone from the crowd removed my mobile phone . I realized this before getting down and returned back to my seat to see if I’ve dropped my mobile phone. There were a few helpful people who gave me their mobile phone to check if my mobile phone was ringing. But it was too late. The person who took it already got off and didn’t know how to answer the call. The person were just pressing any button to disconnect the call.

I lost hope trying to call my mobile number and realized I came too far from my stop. I reached Arey Gardens. I thought I’ll get down and go home and sort the rest of this matter.

When I got down from the bus, I noticed two guys got off too. They offered me their mobile phone to check where my mobile phone was, but one the guy was continuously receiving phone calls. I still tried calling from his phone but the person who stole it had already removed my SIM card. I was very disappointed and went walking down the lonely road leaving them there behind.

I thought to myself that this is the worst day of my life, as this was my favorite mobile phone and it’s the second time I lost my mobile phone. Suddenly, I heard a sound of someone yelling and the two guys were hitting a young boy. They told me that he jumped off the bus and was running. I caught hold of the boy and started checking him but I didn’t find anything. The two guys then asked me to take him to the police. I very well agreed as they were there with me too. I noticed a police bike and waved. They stopped the bike and asked me what happened.

They started questioning the young boy and it seemed that he was going to work and was not in the bus at all. He then asked me if I knew the other two guys. I replied “No”. He started questioning the two guys and they weren’t giving him proper answers. The policeman got suspicious about this and took their phone’s from them. One of the guy wasn’t agreeing to give the phone but the policeman snatched it from him and answered his call. I was really shocked with what the policeman did after that. He started slapping the two guys. They were a gang of drug peddlers who planned this scene.

The policeman hit them to get details of my mobile phone or rather their other partners. We drove down to the main police station in the Police van. The two guys still didn’t admit their crime and we accusing me of being a selfish person for taking their help and getting them into trouble. I did nothing, the cops cracked the case.

This was the first time I ever seen a crime scene at a police station and I should say it’s not an easy job being a Cop. You can’t have a soft heart to stop crime. One of the officers told me in English, “Now you know why we’re called bad guys. To stop crime we have to be nasty or these crooks will never admit their crime”.

They were really sweet to me, so I guessed they were expecting some bribe to get the case sorted. I needed to give a statement of the entire matter, so I was asked about this in detail. They asked me about my job etc. I felt that why people portray these guys as “Bad guys”. They didn’t ask me any money, in fact, they dropped me till my house as the procedure took long and I was there till 1:30 am.

I told the cop that I’ve never seen a police station till date. He asked me if I can write something on my websites about us police, saying. “We’re not bad guys, we’re here to help people, but it hurts when people blame us for being corrupt officers”. I told him I’m surely going to write about this matter, so that people know that Bad guys have turned Good!
